In order to receive, you must give.

For those of you who don’t know, I am doing a fundraiser to donate to Alicia Key’s charity, Keep a Child Alive. Alicia Keys is one of my biggest inspirations and I truly admire her as an artist and as an activist. Majority of you may know her as a productive artist, but she is also a devoted AIDS activist and philanthropist. In 2003 Alicia Keys and Leigh Blake, longtime AIDS activist and film/TV producer, co-founded Keep a Child Alive (KCA), a people’s movement that provides life-saving AIDS medicine and surrounding care to children and families in Africa and India. KCA also provides support to AIDS orphans left behind to keep the most vulnerable children out of harm’s way.

In order to contribute to her charity, I am selling copies of a picture I drew of her. (pictured below) The multicolored background represents traditional colors of Africa. Green: represents the color of Africa, as well as representing hope of the future and continued prosperity. Red: represents the color shed by all African ancestors in the past that helped African Americans get to the present that they are at. Black: represents the color of the African race. Yellow: represents the natural resources of Africa.

The money will be donated to her charitable trust.

I will be selling an assortment of sizes/styles of the picture. (small posters, large posters, shiney paper, and exc.)

So prices will be back up shortly. Please email me at brittanyann1120@yahoo.com if you are interested in purchasing a picture. Also you can send me a message/comment on facebook or leave comments on my BlogSpot. tothestarsdarling.blogspot.com
